Pedestrian injured in hit-and-run crash

BRISTOL — Police were looking for the driver in a hit-and-run crash that left a pedestrian hospitalized on Tuesday.

About 5:15 p.m., police were called to the 300 block of Old Thomas Bridge Road, where a pedestrian had been struck in the eastbound lane. Witnesses told police a westbound vehicle crossed the center line and struck the pedestrian.

The pedestrian suffered serious injuries and was flown to Holston Valley Medical Center, Kingsport, by a medical helicopter.

Police said the investigation was ongoing, and no names had been released.
