A Miller Street fire destroyed a carport and a Jeep and caused damage to a house Sunday night, according to a Johnson City Fire Department news release.
The fire was reported just before 9 p.m. at 1110 Miller St., and firefighters arrived about four minutes later. The fire was in the attached carport and broke through the roof. The family was at home when the fire started and everyone made it out without injury.
The carport was destroyed along with a 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The rest of the house suffered heat, smoke and water damage. Firefighters had the fire under control about 20 minutes after arriving.
The Johnson City Fire Marshal's Office was investigating the cause.
