ELIZABETHTON — The Visitors Center at Sycamore Shoals will be closed on Mondays, beginning after Labor Day.
"The park will still be open on Mondays," Park Manager Jennifer Bauer said. "People can still come and walk the trails and see the fort and use our restroom facilities, it is just the Visitors Center that will be closing on Mondays."
Bauer said the closure is needed so that park staff can complete their administrative duties. The park has lost some part-time help it formerly had.
In addition to the Monday closing, the Visitors Center has new hours from Tuesday through Saturday. The center will now be open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday hours remain unchanged, from 1 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
The schedule for the rest of the park is unchanged. Bauer said the grounds remain open from dawn to dusk.
