Elizabethton police want help solving recycling center burglary

ELIZABETHTON — The Elizabethton Police Department is seeking help from the public in an effort to identifying people suspected of being involved in the burglary of the Carter County Recycling Center in May.

The security video shows two men getting out of what appears to be a Ford Econoline van driven by a third man.

Investigator Todd Hamm said the two men forced their way into the recycling center, disabled the electricity, and attempted to steal parts to a skid steer loader.

Due to the electricity being turned off, they were unable to open the doors to complete the theft.

Anyone with information about the men or the burglary is asked to call the tips hotline at 542-7274, or call Hamm at 297-9002.
