Help United Way continue to do good work in community

While the official start of United Way of Washington County’s annual fundraising campaign is Aug. 15, a regional kickoff is scheduled in Kingsport later today. The idea is to provide a platform for area United Way agencies to get the word out about the good they are doing in our communities.
The theme of this year’s $1.7 million campaign is “Caring for Our Community,” and we ask that you do your part. The need is great, but thankfully so is the will to help.
Your contribution goes to help the 17 service agencies that are supported by United Way. That’s why every little bit helps. No donation is too small.
Because you are reading this editorial, it’s a good bet you are already a faithful contributor to United Way. As we’ve noted in this space during past United Way campaigns, we know regular readers of this page are people who care deeply about their community. We urge you to encourage a family member, friend or coworker to follow your lead and make a contribution of their own to United Way.
