A Johnson City man was arrested Monday for hitting his girlfriend with a golf putter during an argument over his movie collection, according to a JCPD police report.
According to the report, police responded to 714 E. Maple St., where they made contact with a female victim who said she and her boyfriend, Michael G. Debusk, 49, had been arguing for most of the day.
She told police that while she was sorting through Debusk’s movie collection, he became angry, grabbed the putter and hit the top of her right foot.
According to the report, Debusk admitted that he and his girlfriend had been arguing, but said he had not assaulted her and claimed that she was “crazy.”
Debusk was arrested and charged with aggravated assault and his golf putter was placed into evidence.
He was taken to Washington County Detention Center and was being held on $10,000 bond pending a Sessions Court appearance Tuesday at 1:30 p.m.
