Police investigate shots fired at business


Johnson City police responded after a business reportedly had shots fired in a window Tuesday, according to a police reports.


According to the report, police were called to 1205 Division St. about 12:45 a.m. Tammy Johnson told police she was in the back room of a business when she heard people talking near the window and said she walked toward the front doors when the shots went off.


Johnson said she took cover and went to get her husband, Dwayne, who was in the shower.


According to the report, Richard Stiltner and Mark Vaughan were also in the business and reported that Dwayne Johnson, Stiltner and Vaughan had all had interaction with a male suspect and his girlfriend, who had come into the business. The two were reportedly fighting.


Dwayne Johnson said the male suspect said he didn’t “appreciate him meddling in his affairs” and had threatened to shoot out the windows about a week prior to the incident.


No arrests have been made, but charges of aggravated assault and a weapons law violation are pending.

The name of the business was not included in the report, and 1205 Division St. is a residential location across the street from an auto repair garage.
