Update: Sullivan Co. deputies say 9-year-old Johnson City girl drowned in Bloomingale swimming pool

KINGSPORT — According to Sullivan County deputies, the girl who drowned Sunday at a swimming pool in Bloomingdale lived on Country Garden Private Drive in Johnson City.


The girl, identified as Ashley Vincente, was eventually transported to Holston Valley Medical Center where she later died. 

An autopsy was ordered but the death appears to be accidental, deputies said.

KINGSPORT — Police say a 9-year-old girl drowned Sunday afternoon after apparently wandering to a fenced-in swimming pool near a Bloomingdale residence she and her father were visiting.

At about 1:30 p.m. Sunday,  the Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a drowning at 247 Samuel St., which is located in the Bloomingdale section of Kingsport.

According to SCSO public information officer Leslie Earhart, when deputies arrived EMS personnel were already on the scene performing CPR on a 9-year-old girl.
