KINGSPORT — Kingsport twins face multiple charges, according to police, after they were caught stealing a Pepsi machine with a Ford Mustang that contained city-owned drain covers.

Records at the Kingsport Police Department say the incident occurred shortly after 5 a.m. Friday at Allen Creek Apartments, 403 Allen Drive. An officer responding to a report of theft in progress spotted two men running from a 1998 Ford Mustang into an apartment.

Police say that a Pepsi vending machine had been loaded onto a trailer attached to the back of the car. A police report lists the machine’s value at $3,000, while the officer says scuff marks were observed from, "moving the machine from the parking lot."
