Kingsport family's brawl leads to stabbing

Anthony J. Coffey, 23

An argument between a Kingsport woman and her daughter allegedly escalated to attempted murder early Friday morning, when a Rutledge man stabbed his girlfriend's brother in the stomach.

Kingsport police say the incident occurred shortly after midnight at 1355 Warpath Drive. A resident was engaged in an argument with her daughter, Ashley Kiser, 26, when her brother attempted to step in.

Kiser is alleged to have then turned on the would-be mediator, according to police, grabbing her brother by the throat and punching him in the head and shoulders. When Kiser's boyfriend, Anthony J. Coffey, 23, became involved in the scuffle, it spilled out of the home and into the front yard.
