A Johnson City man was arrested Thursday following an investigation into a shoplifting at local store.
According to a Johnson City police news release, Jeff D. Sluder, 55, 1009 Oracle Court, was arrested after he allegedly took two vacuum cleaners and three sets of bedsheets from Belk in the Mall at Johnson City.
According to the police report, the bedsheets were recovered, but the vacuum cleaners were not. The items taken were valued at $974.
Sluder was charged with felony shoplifting and taken to the Washington County Detention Center, where he was being held on $5,000 bond.
He was scheduled to appear in Sessions Court today at 10 a.m.
