Detective asks for public's help in investigation into NE Tennessee murder

Regilla Ann Stacy

CHURCH HILL — As of Wednesday evening, Hawkins County detectives had exhausted almost all of their leads in an investigation into the murder of 48-year-old Regilla Ann Stacy, who was killed Monday.

Hawkins County Sheriff's Office Detective Lt. Eve Jackson said investigators were hoping someone from the public would come forward with helpful information before the case gets cold.

A preliminary autopsy report on Stacy, who lived at 424 Mountain View School Road, hadn’t been completed as of Wednesday evening, so an exact time of death wasn’t available. So far time of death has been narrowed to between 9:15 a.m. and 1:15 p.m. Monday while Stacy’s live-in ex-husband, Ricky Wayne Simpson, was away meeting his parole officer in Greeneville.
