N.C. woman charged with theft from mall store, contributing to delinquency of minor

Amber Leslie Branham

A North Carolina woman was arrested Saturday in Johnson City on accusations that she stole from a mall store and placed some items in her child's bag.

Amber Leslie Branham, 37, 15 Biscayne Drive, Candler, N.C., was arrested after a J.C. Penney employee told police Branham took more than $500 worth of merchandise, concealed it and attempted to leave the store without paying. The employee also told police Branham also placed several items of clothing in a bag held by her juvenile child.

Branham was charged theft of property over $500 and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. She was jailed in the Washington County Detention Center on $6,000 bond pending a Sessions Court appearance Monday.
