Kevin Lynn Stover
ELIZABETHTON — A county man faces additional charges following his arrest on Thursday afternoon.
Sgt. Stacy McKinney of the Carter County Sheriff's Department said he responded to an assault call on Mill Pond Road. When he arrived, he found Angela Lowe lying in the street and being treated by Carter County Rescue Squad personnel. He said she appeared to be bleeding from several places on her face. She was transported to the Johnson City Medical Center for treatment.
McKinney spoke with witnesses who said Lowe had been assaulted by Kevin Lynn Stover, 44, 1905 Tenn. Highway 91. Stover had left the scene, they said.
A short time later, Deputy Billy Harrell arrested Stover. When he attempted to place Stover in the back of his patrol car, he said Stover resisted and Sgt. Brian Durham and Investigator Travis Ludlow forced him inside.
Once at the Carter County Detention Center, Durham said Stover threatened to attack him when he got out of jail. Stover was then charged with resisting arrest and retaliation for past action in addition to the aggravated assault charge. Stover is scheduled to answer the charges in Sessions Court on Aug. 13.comments powered by Disqus
