Johnson Co. Sheriff: Fugitive wanted on local meth charges caught in Colorado

MOUNTAIN CITY — A man wanted for methamphetamine trafficking in Johnson County has been arrested in Colorado, Johnson County Sheriff Mike Reece announced in a news release.

Larry Mitchell Snyder was arrested in Fair Play, Colo., by Homeland Security Agents.

Reece said Snyder was among several people targeted in Operation Dixie Crystal, a joint task force investigation aimed at meth trafficking in Johnson County and several western North Carolina counties.

Since 2012, the operation has resulted in charges against 30 people for meth and firearms offenses. Law enforcement agencies have seized approximately 30 weapons, five vehicles, 20 pounds of meth and $150,000 in cash.
