Man accused of stealing U-Haul truck

A city man was charged Thursday with stealing a U-Haul truck, Johnson City police said in a news release.

Marlon Brando McKeage, 242 W. Main St., No. 10, was charged with theft of property over $10,000.

On July 8, officers responded to U-Haul, 112 Commerce St., in reference to a stolen vehicle. Employees there said they were contacted by the Kingsport Police Department on July 3, who advised they had a U-Haul truck that was involved in an accident in their jurisdiction. An investigation revealed the truck had been stolen from the city business’ lot July 3.

Evidence found in the vehicle lead police to arrest McKeage, police said. He was taken to the Washington County Detention Center and held in lieu of $10,000 bond. He is set to be arraigned today at 1:30 p.m. in Sessions Court.
