Woman arrested after alleged Kingsport home invasion

Mary Massarueh

KINGSPORT — A Kingsport resident's unsolicited visitor led to a late Monday night arrest, as he was reportedly awakened by an unknown woman standing in his bedroom.

Records at the Sullivan County Sheriff's Office state the incident occurred at a home on Forest Hills Road. At approximately 11:15 p.m. a resident called police to say a woman, who he did not know, was inside his home.

The female left the bedroom after stirring the sleeping man, while he remained inside the room until police arrived. Upon their arrival the suspect was not located in the home, though a window at the back door was found broken to make entry. The front door of the home was also slightly open.
