One killed, nine injured in four-vehicle accident involving ambulance

CHURCH HILL — One person was killed and nine people were injured Saturday night after an ambulance carrying a burn patient from Mooresburg to the Holston Valley Medical Center in Kingsport struck a vehicle at a Church Hill intersection.

The burn victim had reportedly been injured in a fireworks accident.

According to the Tennessee Highway Patrol, the Hawkins County EMS ambulance was eastbound on Highway 11-W when it struck a 2001 Toyota Corolla at the Silver Lake Road intersection.
