Police: Johnson City man tried to stab woman intervening in argument

Karl Dixon

A Lamont Street man was arrested Saturday on a charge that he tried to stab a woman who tried to intervene in an argument.

Karl Dixon, 40, 311 Lamont St., Apt. 1, was charged with aggravated assault.

A woman told police she was trying to calm an argument between Dixon and another man when Dixon took out a knife and tried to stab her in the stomach. He then began swinging the knife at her but did not cut her, police said.

Dixon left the scene of the argument. A warrant was issued for Dixon's arrest, and police took him into custody Saturday. He was jailed in the Washington County Detention Center on $25,000 bond pending a Sessions Court hearing Monday.
