Elvis would be proud of Barlow Gin and the Hatchetmen playing Tunes @ Noon at Paramount Center for the Arts today. Barlow Gin is an eight-member, 12-piece professional band that plays with the styles from years since past, pulling from Rockabilly, 1940s Jazz, and Big Band Swing.
Back in the day, hardly anybody knew about jazz, much less rockabilly. Elvis embraced this obscure phenomenon, which is a huge coincidence, because Barlow Gin is an obscure phenomenon, too. Just because they aren’t famous doesn’t mean they aren’t great.
Paramount Center for the Arts is located at 518 State St., Bristol.
Admission is by a suggested donation of $5.
