Johnson City woman arrested after call to 911 about husband with gun

Cordelia Anne O’Quinn

A Johnson City woman's claim to 911 that her husband had a gun during an argument Saturday night landed her in jail.

Police said Cordelia Anne O’Quinn, 59, 130 Wichita St., called 911 and reported that her husband had a gun. She told a dispatcher she could not talk further and hung up.

Police learned that O'Quinn and her husband had been drinking and arguing. She denied telling the 911 dispatcher that her husband had a gun or that he had shown one during the argument.

Both O'Quinn and her husband told police an unloaded shotgun in an adjacent room had not been touched during the argument.

Police reviewed the 911 call and arrested O'Quinn about 9:40 p.m. Saturday. She was charged with false reporting and jailed in the Washington County Detention Center on $5,000 bond pending a Sessions Court appearance Monday.
