CHURCH HILL — A Church Hill man has been arrested for allegedly firing a gun at the occupied porch of his mother-in-law — also his next door neighbor — during an altercation with her boyfriend.

Police report five individuals, including a one-year-old child, were on the porch that he shot at, prompting four counts of reckless endangerment and one count of aggravated assault.

According to a Hawkins County Sheriff's Office arrest report, shortly after 11 p.m. Wednesday deputies responded to 195 Okalona Road, lot 17. Witnesses told police that Michael Isaac McMurray, 48, of lot 15, had been engaged in an "altercation" with a male resident.
