Hawkins man accused of stealing cop's Glock, trading it for drugs

Dustin Alan Caldwell

ROGERSVILLE — Investigators believe a Hawkins County man, who allegedly burgled a vacationing deputy’s home last week and stole a service Glock, traded that gun for drugs.

HCSO Deputy Rusty Ferrell was on vacation last week with his family and returned Saturday to his home on Old Webster Valley Road.

Ferrell told HCSO Detective Daniel Byington Monday that when he went to put on his duty gear for work he noticed that his Glock 21SF .45 caliber pistol was missing. Byington stated in his report that Dustin Alan Caldwell, 22, 155 Old Webster Valley Road, Rogersville, was quickly developed as a suspect.
