Man accused of pulling gun in confrontation near downtown Johnson City restaurant

Jordon Kestner

A man was arrested after he allegedly pulled a gun on a woman who in return pulled a knife on him while he was walking back to a Johnson City bar around 2:30 a.m. Sunday, according to court documents.

Jordon Shane Kestner, 22, was charged with two counts of aggravated assault after he was confronted by a group of people who had been in a fight with one of his friends earlier in the day.

Kestner told police he drove home, which was reported to be a downtown apartment, from the Battery because he had been drinking. Court documents also list Kestner’s address as 26261 Northridge Road, Meadowview, Va. While walking back to the Battery, the group of people that had been in a fight with his friend confronted Kestner, police said.

According to court documents, Kestner told the victims that he didn’t have a problem killing someone and pulled out a .38-caliber handgun. Kestner reportedly pointed the gun at a man and woman and the woman responded by pulling out a knife. Kestner ran to hide his gun before police arrived, but later showed an officer where he hid it, according to court documents.

Kestner was booked into the Washington County Detention Center and was being held on $50,000 bond. He was scheduled to appear in Session Court on Monday.
