Man arrested on flight from Knoxville to Denver after security threat

DENVER — One person is in custody after an incident on a Frontier Airlines Airbus A319 that was flying from Knoxville to Denver.

Kate O’Mally with Frontier Airlines told 7NEWS there were 136 passengers and five crew members on flight 601.

When the jet landed just after 7 p.m. Friday, it was taken to a remote area of the airport and the passengers were bused to a nearby fire station to be interviewed by FBI agents.

Laura Coale, Denver International Airport media director, said Denver Police Department and Federal Bureau of Investigation representatives took one person into custody.

Denver Police Department bomb squad personnel responded and were on the scene three hours until about 11:30 p.m., Coale said.
