Police: Crack cocaine found in man’s pocket after foot chase

Johnson City police arrested a man after he allegedly fled on foot and was found in possession of crack cocaine, according to a press release.


Janmichael V. Lingo, 21, address unavailable, was charged with evading arrest, resisting arrest, possession of a schedule II drug for resale and fifth offense driving on a suspended license.


According to the release, Lingo ran from the vehicle he was driving when police stopped him for committing a traffic violation about 5:30 p.m. Tuesday. 


When police caught up to Lingo, they found 3.5 grams of crack cocaine in his pocket, police said.


The passenger in the car, whose name was not provided, was wanted on outstanding warrants in Hamilton County. 


Lingo was booked at the Washington County Detention Center and was being held on $13,000 bond. He is scheduled to appear in Sessions Court Wednesday, June 12.
