Hawkins deputies say woman claimed she had been shot to get faster police response

SURGOINSVILLE — Several Hawkins County deputies converged on 570 Stoney Point Road in Surgoinsville early Saturday morning ready to face a potential gunman and hostage situation.

Instead, they found Kasie Danyell Crumley — who had allegedly told a 911 dispatcher she’d been shot and was being held captive — standing outside the residence with a phone in her hand.

Crumley, 33,  326 Oak Grove Road, Rogersville, allegedly admitted that she lied to a Hawkins County 911 dispatcher about being shot and being held captive so that police would respond faster.
