Johnson City police: Blue Plum bike patrol nets teen burglars

Dakoda Marich

Bike patrols around the Blue Plum festival in downtown Johnson City allowed police Saturday to catch an 18-year-old man and a 14-year-old boy in the act of burglarizing a vehicle, police said in a news release.

Police saw suspicious activity at the historic train depot at 300 Buffalo St. and found the 14-year-old burglarizing the vehicle while the adult served as lookout.

Dakoda Marich, 18, 709 Franklin St., was charged with burglary of a motor vehicle and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. He was jailed in the Washington County Detention Center on $11,000 bond pending a Sessions Court appearance today.

The boy was charged with burglary of a motor vehicle. He was held at the regional Juvenile Detention Center in Johnson City. A Juvenile Court date had not been set.
