Two charged in murder of woman in Mechanicsville

KNOXVILLE - Two men are charged with murder in the killing of a young mother of newborn twins outside a Mechanicsville house Friday morning.

Lavonte Dominique Simmons, 22, and Shawn David O’Neill, 24, have been charged with first-degree murder in the killing of Uniquea Brown, 21, and are being held in Knox County Jail today on $1 million bonds, according to the Knoxville Police Department

They were found hiding in a house at 1605 Mose Ave. on Friday. Additional charges against the two are possible, according to police.
