Scott County to seek indictments following high-speed pursuit

GATE CITY – Prosecutors said Friday they will seek direct indictments against a Kingsport man who allegedly led a Scott County sheriff’s deputy on a high-speed pursuit last week with a stolen vehicle.

The Scott County Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office said it plans to pursue felony eluding and reckless driving charges against Nicholas Brown, 21, of Kingsport, for his alleged involvement in the May 26 chase.

Scott County Commonwealth’s Attorney Marcus McClung said his office is bringing felony charges against Brown because his alleged actions endangered others.
