Johnson City police: Woman found asleep in stolen vehicle with drug equipment

Johnson City police found a woman sleeping in a stolen vehicle early Saturday morning, resulting in her arrest on theft and drug-related charges, police said in a news release.

Samantha B. Bowman, 42, 202 Hillcrest Drive, was arrested after police were called to 2105 E. Farview Ave. about 4 a.m. to check on a report that a stolen vehicle was at the address.

Police found Bowman asleep in the driver's seat, and as she was patted down, an officer found a needle, a spoon and a rolled up nylon stocking — items associated with intravenous drug use — in her possession.

Bowman was charged with theft of motor vehicle and a drug equipment violation. She was jailed in the Washington County Detention Center on $11,000 bond pending a Sessions Court appearance Monday.
