A body found in a wooded area off Stafford Street in Bristol, Tenn. last week has been identified as a man reported missing in Virginia three weeks ago, according to a Bristol, Tenn. police press release.
The body was tentatively identified as Donald Ray Cross, 49, who was reported missing to the Washington County, Va. Sheriff’s Office three weeks ago. Cross’ body was found May 22 and sent for an autopsy to the East Tennessee State University forensic lab.
The results of that autopsy won’t be available for several months, according to police. Cross’ death remains under investigation.
