The quick onset of a thunderstorm in the Tri-Cities region has led to a road closure in Washington County and road closures and flooding in areas of Unicoi County, according to emergency radio traffic.

Tenn. Highway 81 in Washington County from Tenn. Highway 75 to Jonesborough was closed because of many down trees in the area, according to Washington County 911 dispatchers.

A Unicoi County 911 dispatcher said they were receiving many reports of flooding all over the county, especially in the town of Unicoi.

Flooding has also been reported in the Hampton area near Rittertown Road, according to a Carter County 911 dispatcher.
