Police receive multiple missing gun reports

Four guns have been reported missing to Johnson City police this month.

On Friday, Kenneth Laduke, 62, was unable to take one of his guns to a handgun carry permit class after realizing they were missing, he told police. Two Berettas — a 92FS and a semi-automatic 950 Jetfire — were removed from a drawer in Laduke’s bedroom between May 3 and Friday, police said.

Laduke told police that about 25 people were at his residence for a wedding party and he believes that’s when they were taken.

Two separate missing gun reports were submitted May 11.

Carroll Vandekrol, 55, woke up to find his loaded black Beretta, some cash and a checkbook were taken from his vehicle during the night, according to the report. Bill Crum, 72, reported his .22-caliber handgun missing after a suspect offered to clean it. Crum’s Samsung flip phone and $90 in cash were also missing, police said.

All guns have been reported missing to the National Crime Information Center.
