Georgia police apprehend two Johnson City men

CALHOUN, Ga. — Two Johnson City men were charged this past week in Georgia with drug trafficking.
After stopping a suspicious vehicle from Tennessee, Gordon County, Ga., Sheriff’s Office deputies charged Brian Keith Long, 38, and Kenneth Alan McKinney, 42, both of Johnson City, with possession and intent to sell marijuana as well as trafficking cocaine, according to a news release.
Long and McKinney’s vehicle was pulled over for traffic violations around 1 p.m. May 7 near the city of Calhoun.
Police reportedly smelled marijuana coming from inside the vehicle and a search revealed more than a pound of marijuana inside a backpack, according to the release. Several thousand dollars in cash was also found and seized.
After the car was seized for inventory, police also found more than an ounce of cocaine inside, according to the release.
Long and McKinney were arrested at the scene and were being held in the county jail pending bond.
