Man charged with punching, attempting to stab ex-girlfriend

A man was arrested after he allegedly punched and attempted to stab his ex-girlfriend Saturday around 5 p.m., according to Johnson City police.
James Richard Brobeck, 34, was charged with domestic aggravated assault Monday, according to the report.
Brobeck’s ex-girlfriend, Mellisa Brosious, 42, told police after an argument with him, she left her apartment and he followed her up the sidewalk and punched her in the face, knocking her to the ground near 1100 King Springs Road.
Once on the ground, Brobeck pulled out a knife and attempted to stab Brosious, according to the report.
Police reported that Brosious had put her hands up while on the ground and suffered two small lacerations to her left wrist and right hand. Broscious refused medical attention.
Brobeck was arrested Monday after being spotted outside a laundromat on South Roan Street.
Brobeck was transported to the Washington County Detention Center.
