Police identify 2 women killed in wrong-way Kingsport crash on I-26

KINGSPORT — Two Kingsport women have been identified as the victims of a fatal head-on collision from Saturday night, triggered by one of the drivers traveling the wrong direction on Interstate 26.

The incident occurred at approximately 8:51 p.m. near mile marker 2. Kingsport Police Officer Dale Farmer reports Lisa M. West, 40, of 380 Crawford Road, was driving a 1999 Toyota Camry west on the eastbound lanes of I-26. It is not currently known which exit she entered the wrong lanes of traffic.

West's car hit a 2002 Toyota Camry traveling the correct direction on interstate, driven by Laura S. Duncan, 45, of 701 Westwood Circle, Kingsport. The head-on collision killed both Duncan and West, with police saying neither woman was wearing their seatbelt.
