Appeals court affirms Kingsport murderer's conviction

The Tennessee Court of Criminal Appeals has affirmed the conviction and sentencing of a Kingsport murderer.

In June of 2006 Michael D. Fields reportedly entered the Arbor Place garage apartment of Glen Thacker, 26, and Asiah Foster-Walton, 20.

Investigators believe the incident was drug-related, with Fields brutally beating the pair with a baseball bat and leaving them to die, making off with cocaine and pills.

In April of 2010 a Sullivan County jury found Fields guilty on two counts of first-degree murder, two counts of first-degree felony murder and two counts of especially aggravated robbery. He was sentenced to life without parole.
