Johnson City pharmacist set to plead guilty in federal court

Former Johnson City pharmacist Thomas Patrick Rowan is scheduled to plead guilty in U.S. District Court in Greeneville today to drug possession charges.
The case involves Rowan diverting more than 7,500 Oxycodone pills for his own use from two pharmacies he owned, according to an agreement filed earlier this month.
In the plea agreement Rowan admits he made up fake prescriptions to avoid detection. He took the drugs, Oxycodone, also known as Percocet, from Family Pharmacy and Boones Creek Pharmacy between February 2011 and May 2012.
Rowan will plead guilty to possession of Oxycodone by misrepresentation, fraud, forgery or deception and furnishing false and fraudulent records regarding Oxycodone. He faces up to four years in federal prison and a fine up to $250,000.
