KNOXVILLE — The week of drag shows, condom hunts, sex trivia and other racy — and educational — events at the University of Tennessee wraps up today, but student organizers already have their sights set on next year.
Last-minute fundraising that earned the group roughly $10,000 this year is not a feat organizers expect to repeat, said Brianna Rader, a co-founder of the event. The Unitarian Church and Planned Parenthood contributed.
“This year was more of an emergency situation, so I doubt the church would do that again, or that Planned Parenthood would do it again,” Rader said. “This was a sensational and exciting thing, and that’s why people gave money.”
