KINGSPORT — A traffic stop performed by the Kingsport police SWAT team, followed by the execution of a search warrant at a drug suspect's home, has prompted a felony arrest and alleged seizure of $2,400 in crack cocaine.

Antwaun "Kitchen" Hendricks, 40, was apprehended shortly after 9 a.m. on Lynn Garden Drive. Kingsport Police Department Vice Det. Nathan Elliott says approximately 8 SWAT members descended on Hendricks' vehicle near Tranbarger Drive, ensuring officer safety during the subsequent execution of a search warrant.

With Hendricks in tow officers went to his nearby residence, 1524 Roanoke Hill. Elliott says the search discovered approximately 24 grams of crack cocaine and a small amount of marijuana. Police also confiscated approximately $850 believed to be the proceeds of illegal drug sales.
