BRISTOL, Va. — Three men described as "reportedly homeless" were arrested on arson charges following an investigation into recent fires at two Bristol residences, police announced Tuesday.
Jeremy Edward Ball, 19, Carlos Wayne Bradley, 28, and Ross Nicholas Culbertson, 29, were charged with setting the fires in late February and early March.
On Feb. 27, a residence at 1022 Lewis St. was broken into and set on fire. The structure was a total loss. On March 3, an unoccupied house at 1005 Vermont Ave. was broken into and set on fire. It sustained minimal damage, police said.
An investigation conducted by the Bristol Police and Fire Departments revealed that Ball, Bradley and Culbertson were acquainted with the Lewis Street victim. Being reportedly homeless, they sometimes slept in the unoccupied Vermont Avenue house, police said.
Each man was charged with two counts of breaking and entering and two counts of arson. They were being held in the Bristol Jail without bond.
