OAK RIDGE — One-page fliers bearing the letterhead of the United Klans of America and announcing a neighborhood watch were left this week in resealable baggies weighted down with rocks in an older neighborhood in the western end of the city.
“You can sleep well tonight knowing the UKA is awake!” the fliers state. They also include a phone number for a northern Alabama location and the organization’s website, which Oak Ridge Police Officer Garrett L. Robbins wrote in an incident report “consists of KKK related white supremacist propaganda.”
It’s unclear who left the fliers, the officer reported. No one answered the phone this morning for the number printed on the flier for the organization.
