ERWIN — A monthlong drug investigation has resulted in the weekend arrest of a man for allegedly selling drugs out of a Unicoi County motel.
According to a release from the Unicoi County Sheriff's Department, Brian K. Orren, 31, was charged with three counts of sale of a schedule III drug.
The release states that after receiving information alleging that Orren was selling prescription drugs out of a county motel room in which he was residing, investigators began an investigation in early January.
According to the sheriff's department, investigators conducted operations on three separate occasions in which an undercover operative went to the motel and purchased drugs from Orren. These transactions were monitored and recorded by investigators, and each time investigators collected pills from the operative immediately afterwards, the release states.
Deputies reported that the incidents occurred at the Best Southern Motel off Jackson Love Highway.
Orren was held in Unicoi County Jail on a $40,000 corporate bond. He is scheduled to appear in Unicoi County General Sessions Court on Thursday.
