ELIZABETHTON — A man accidentally shot himself in the foot on Sunday morning, according to the Carter County Sheriff's Department.
Deputy Ashley McCall reported that she was dispatched to Sycamore Shoals Hospital at 5:30 a.m. Sunday, where she spoke with Jeremy Lacy, Roosevelt Circle.
McCall said Lacy told her he thought his .22 caliber rifle was unloaded when he started to clean it. He said the rifle discharged, shooting him in the top of his right foot. His friend, Jeremy Peters, heard the shot and heard Lacy yell. Peters came into the room and drove Lacy to the hospital.
