A Greeneville woman was injured after her car wrecked on U.S. Highway 11E near Rheatown Road in Greene County on Wednesday night, according to preliminary reports from the Tennessee Highway Patrol.
According to the report, witnesses said the vehicle, driven by Ashley Ferguson, 23, was traveling west on U.S. 11E around 8:10 p.m. at high speed and hit a guardrail on the right side of the road.
Her vehicle, a 1997 Acura, then overturned over an embankment and caught fire.
Ferguson was injured in the accident and was flown to Johnson City Medical Center.
She was charged with driving under the influence, no seat belt and no proof of insurance.
