A man and a woman were arrested Wednesday after officers received information on possible narcotics activity at a Johnson City hotel, according to a police news release.
Robert Siler, 26, 2800 Dodson Ave., Chattanooga, and Kayla Carpenter, 21, 657 Jena Beth Drive, Apt. 8, Elizabethton, were located by police in their hotel room at Comfort Inn, 1900 S. Roan St., and denied consent to search the room, police said.
Police said they obtained a warrant and found 29 grams of suspected crack cocaine, $1,800 in cash and three grams of marijuana.
Siler was charged with resale of crack cocaine and simple possession of marijuana. Carpenter was charged with maintaining a dwelling for controlled substances or distributing.
They were both taken to the Washington County Detention Center, where Siler was held on $11,000 bond and Carpenter was held on $10,000 bond.
