NASHVILLE — Another person has died in Tennessee from the fungal meningitis outbreak, the state Department of Health reported today.
Although no new illnesses were included in the updated report, Tennessee continues to lead the nation with the number of deaths. Eleven people have now died in Tennessee, where a total of 74 infections have been reported.
Michigan had 89 infections reported as of Monday with five deaths, according to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, which is expected to update its numbers later today. The outbreak has sickened more than 350 people in 19 states.
