The 35th annual Unicoi County Apple Festival opened Friday at 8 a.m. Nearly 350 vendors are there for the two-day event that offers something for everyone. Festival Activities include many varities of apples and apple products for sale, entertainment on two stages that include gospel, country, bluegrass and dancing, a large children's area, a Blue Ridge Pottery show and sale, handmade crafts, antiques, talent and beauty contests, foot races, apple cooking contest, apple dumpling contest, a photography contest, a cornhole tournament and a smorgasbord of food. The festival opens at 8 a.m. and closes at 8p.m. Friday and Saturday.
