A Johnson City man was charged with waking a man and robbing him Thursday, police said.
Johnson City police charged Jason L. Avery, 38, 883 W. Main St., Apt. 202, with aggravated robbery.
Police said the victim, Brady Butler, 44, was awakened in his Claiborne Street residence by a man and a woman standing over him demanding his money.
Butler told police the man threatened to beat his head in, so he told the robber his wallet was in his truck.
The man and the woman left, and after Butler called 911, he checked his truck's center console and found that his wallet had been stolen. The wallet contained his ID, a debit card and $60.
Avery was later arrested and taken to the Washington County Detention Center, where he was being held on $15,000 bond.
He was scheduled to appear in Sessions Court Friday morning.
